Now&Next™ is a game changer in future planning
First Step Quest has five short levels, and each one builds on the last.
In Spot the First Step, you read real goals that parents have set and choose the option that is a true first step: something small you could do once, straight away.
In Shrink It Down, you take a big goal and keep making it smaller until you reach a very first step you could do in the next 10 minutes.
In Plan B Rescue, plans meet real life. A child gets sick or a visitor turns up, and you choose how to keep the goal going instead of giving up.
In My Insights, you see what you did well and which traps you tend to fall into, with a tip for each one.
In My Own Quest, you use everything you've practised on a goal of your own. You choose a family, child or personal goal, pick your very first step and do it right after the game. Then you plan your next step and a plan B. You can save your plan as a picture for your phone or email it to yourself.
You earn stars as you go, and the whole game takes about 15 minutes.
First Step Quest is a free, short game for parents in the Now & Next programme. It helps you practise a skill that makes a big difference to reaching your goals: finding a first step, small and clear enough that you can actually do it. You can play on your phone, tablet or computer, at your own pace, between group sessions. There is nothing to sign up for. Everything you choose or write stays on your own device and is never sent anywhere.

You will learn that a good first step happens once, on a set day, and you can tick it off when it’s done. You will learn to shrink a big goal until it feels doable this week, and to use your own strengths to get it moving. You will learn to plan for snags, so a hard day does not stop your goal. You will also learn the five common traps that make goals stall, so you can spot them in everyday life. Most of all, you will see that when a plan does not happen, it is not a failure. Trying again with a plan B is the skill that matters most.
